We had Caesar, we had Gandhi, we had Martin Luther King, Jr., we had Jesus Christ, and we had the Prophet Mohammed. Gandhi faced his quest for the freedom of India, willing to pay the price of death should it be demanded. Gandhi did not hide. Martin Luther King proceeded with his cries for equality in America when he knew that the consequence of his cries might be death. Martin Luther King did not hide. Jesus knew that the consequences of riding on a donkey into Jerusalem proclaiming the Good News would be death. Jesus did not hide. Prophet Mohammed did not hide from threats when he began to teach the Islamic faith. Caesar headed to the capital despite the warning that he might be assassinated. Caesar did not hide. So, Osama, leaders don’t hide. |

Were Osama Bin Laden and Shakespeare’s Macbeth best friends in a previous life, if there is any such thing as a previous life? Members of the House of Friends, Macbeth would like the whole world to believe that the idea of his becoming the king of two nations was predestined by the voices of three witches. Like Macbeth, Osama Bin Laden would also like the whole world to believe that the idea of his rebellious ambition to become the true bearer of the Islamic faith was predestined by 19 suicidal ignorant young men on airplanes. But what Macbeth did in attempting to become king of two nations exposed his inordinate ambition. He murdered in cold blood the one who admired him the most. Osama Bin Laden, in your attempt to become the true bearer of the Islamic faith, you sent 19 terrorists to massacre almost 3,000 innocent people, then ran and hid in a hole for the rest of your life like Saddam Hussein. Osama, leaders don’t hide. They face the consequences of their revolutions.

Osama Bin Laden, you are exactly the person Caesar had in mind when he said, "Cowards die many times before their deaths,
the valiant never taste of death but once." Osama, you killed more than 3,000 souls at Ground Zero and now hide away for life. On that same day, Osama, you died more than 3,000 times before your inevitable death by your own sword that has come and gone or still awaits.

Osama, you still have a chance to redeem yourself and be the kind of valiant leader Julius Caesar had in mind. All you must do is ride on a camel into the American embassy in Pakistan in peace and request a visa to come to New York and be judged by your own peers. The fact that American justice has a jury system that judges its own peers shows that, by considering you a peer under this system, America is willing to stoop to offer you justice. So there’s no need to hide anymore. Come out of your hiding hole and taste death but once. Else, Osama, you’ll die a coward in your hiding hole. Osama, leaders don’t hide. They face consequences of their revolution. Aren’t you the leader of Al-Qaeda?

To this end, Mr. Bin-Laden, I submit these proposals to the House of Friends of the Chambers of FOG to reveal the truth to your followers and turn them against you under this FOG Opinion #1001 Torpedoes Without Targets: Project “RRR” Reconstruction, Reorganization, and Rehabilitation of the Terrorist Mind.

Concluding Remarks: A Traditional Solution

The House of Friends should approach global terrorism in a different way. The world has confronted these problems with governmental intervention, military intervention, NATO intervention, and United Nations intervention. But, governments cannot use guns or olive branches to unwash a brain that has been brainwashed with the wrong doctrine. Terrorist leaders do not want peace in any manner, shape, or form. If there is peace, terrorist leaders would be out of a job and out of power. Who among leaders wants to be unemployed, out of power, and out of followers?

The best way the House of Friends should approach terrorism is to turn terrorist sympathizers and followers against their leaders by using the very same tool their leaders use to recruit them – teachings of the Islamic faith, economic empowerment, and hope for a better future through living and not through suicide with the promises of Heavenly rewards.

Through their friends, neighbors, and family, the House of Friends must reach out to the segments of the world population prone to committing these acts. The House of Friends must implement behavior modification encompassing educational and spiritual self-improvement programs as alternatives to violence.

|
Above all, it was 19 adults who, on Sept. 11, 2001, flew airplanes into office buildings killing more than 2,900 people. This was all done in the name of Allah. Islam is a peaceful faith. It is written in the Holy Quran, Chapter 3, verse 172: "Of those who answered the call of Allah and the messenger, even after being wounded, those who do right and refrain from wrong have a great reward."

Like the Nigerian father who reported his son’s admiration of Islamist extremism to the American authorities, parents all over the world with children prone to carrying out terroristic acts should do likewise. America is lucky that this son of a Nigerian banker failed in his attempt to carry out a 2009 Christmas Day massacre of innocent Americans aboard an American jetliner. That is how the House of Friends should approach terrorism. The House of Friends must create an environment that gives a credible base for brothers of terrorists or potential terrorists to deal with their strays, fathers to deal with fathers of potential terrorists, friends to confront potential terrorist friends, mothers to confront their own terrorist-sympathizing sons and daughters for their wrongful, criminal, immoral, or terroristic acts or ideologies. Let the House of Friends give them the tools and programs to reign in the strays among them and in the process make this a kinder and less violent world.

The House of Friends will publish in print media, online, and other formats articles to reconstruct the minds, reorganize the priorities, and rehabilitate the attitudes of those among the world’s population perpetrating violent acts or prone to perpetrating violent acts against humanity.

Through credible Islamic clerics, students, teachers, friends, family members, and neighbors, the House of Friends must design credible programs supported by the Holy Quran to re-educate terrorists, potential terrorists, and sympathizers. The words “Allah Akbar,” an expression of faith in Islam that Islamist extremists have corrupted, if used to commit atrocities against women, children, or innocent people, will lead to eternal damnation as opposed to immortality/heaven. The House of Friends must educate that this is a false doctrine formulated by Islamic extremists to falsely acquire power over members of their faith for their own selfish ends. The House of Friends must compare the spirituality of Jim Jones who murdered his followers at Guyana to Osama Bin Laden. Osama Bin Laden and terrorist leaders must be exposed for what they are - corrupt people who protect their own and live lavishly in secret, while sending hungry, innocent kids who need hope to commit suicide with false promises of martyrdom and 70 virgins in paradise.

Any behavior modification programs implemented by the House of Friends must be implemented from the grassroots by Fog members through families, friends, fathers, brothers, and community leaders in areas prone to terrorist acts.

In addition to addressing terrorism, the House of Friends must provide a forum at Fogchambers.org where from the Kaaba and Al-Haram Mosque of Saudi Arabia, to the Streets of Kabul, from the Badshahi Mosque of Pakistan, to the Streets of Iraq, from the Big Apple of New York, to the 10,000 lakes of Minnesota, from street of the West Bank and Gaza to grounds of Tel Aviv, where people from all faiths can reach out to each other to engage in random acts of kindness and generosity.

As Peter F. Drucker the greatest management theorist of our time puts it, “All great achievements start with small ideas. The future cannot be known. The only thing certain about it is that it will be different from, rather than a continuation of, today. But the future is as yet unborn, unformed, undetermined. It can be shaped by purposeful action… And the one thing that can effectively motivate such action is an idea — an idea of a different…” method. By not daring to take the risk of making the new happen… “the world …takes, by default, the greater risk of being surprised by what will happen…” next – a nuclear attack by terrorists on the streets of America? On American children?

The House of Friends must organize the friends of terrorists and potential terrorists. The House of Friends must organize the fathers of terrorists and potential terrorists. The House of Friends must organize mothers of terrorists and potential terrorists, and let them all work together and turn their terrorist and potential terrorist children into torpedoes without targets – torpedoes without target go around finding and destroying the submarine that fires them.
